 18-24ಜನವರಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಪ್ತಾಹ ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಆದೇಶ ಆಗಿದೆ.  ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೇರಳ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರಿಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರಜೆ ನೀಡಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವತ್ತಿನ Bangalore Mirror ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಹೇಳಿರುವುದು ಹೀಗಿದೆ;  Anjali Ramana chairperson of the child welfare committee said "The authorities should provide basic infrastructure at schools for the girl students in rural areas" "Boys should be sensitized on how education for girls will help the economy of India" "I am also not in favour of the government sanctioning menstrual leave for girl students" "The main focus of the national girl child day should be on reducing the psychological gap between boys and girls" "The events planned on the occasion of national girl child day should not make boys feel that girls are being unnecessarily pampered" said Anjali Ramanna   https://bangaloremirror.indiatimes.com/bangalore/others/empowering
